A food hall concept named the Doral Yard by the founders of Wynwood Yard is set to launch at Downtown Doral in spring 2019.
Della Heiman and Ken Lyon of Yard Hospitality teamed up with Joseph Furst of the Wyndwood Business Improvement District to create the new 20,000-square-foot food hall. The Doral Yard will be at the northeast corner of Main Street and Paseo Boulevard in Downtown Doral, a 250-acre mixed-use development.
"For Downtown Doral, we were missing a retail concept that bridged food, working and art all in one place, and the Doral Yard will be it," said Ana-Marie Codina Barlick, CEO of Codina Partners, developer of Downtown Doral.
In September, the Business Journal reported that Miami officials would consider four major developments, including a plan by a Lennar Corp. subsidiary to build apartments on the site where Wynwood Yard and the O Cinema currently operate.
The Wynwood Yard, at 56 NW 29th St. in Miami's Wynwood., will be open at least until spring 2019. Its vendors included the Bar at the Yard, Della Test Kitchen, Brazilian Fire, Kuenko, World Famous House of Mac, Food Dude, Pasilla Tacos, Pi by Half Moon, Mr. Q., Burgerstruck, Charcoal Garden Bar + Grill and Wyn-Box and Garden Box.
The Doral Yard eateries will include the Hall, Charcoal garden+ grill and the Backyard.
The Hall will occupy 5,000 square feet and will feature a co-working café and three local food concepts, including della bowls and a food service hall. It will also host meetings, events, workshops, classes and gatherings.
Charcoal Garden bar + grill is a full service restaurant that originally launched at the Wynwood Yard.
The Backyard is a partially covered, outdoor entertainment and culinary area that will occupy 5,000 square feet of space.
"We look forward to making our mark on the Doral community with food, culture and around-the-clock activities at the Doral Yard," Heiman said. "True to our Wynwood Yard traditions, we will host about ten free events each week when we open the the Doral Yard."
